Our School Feeding Programme in Kenya

In the communities surrounding our farms, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. That is why our School Feeding Programme remains one of our most impactful community initiatives—providing free, nutritious daily meals to learners across five schools: Maua Primary, Maua ECD, Madaraka, Nkiria, and Angaine.

With more than 69,000 beneficiaries to date, the programme ensures that children have access to a well‑balanced diet that fuels both body and mind. For many learners—some of whom cannot afford more than one meal a day—this support has become a lifeline. Importantly, over 60% of the children enrolled in these schools are from families of our farm workers, strengthening our commitment to uplifting our people and the communities we operate in.

The impact continues to be profound

  • Improved school attendance: Students are more motivated to attend classes consistently, knowing they will receive a nutritious meal.
  • Reduced drop-out rates: The burden of food insecurity on families has eased, resulting in fewer children leaving school prematurely.
  • Enhanced performance and participation: With reliable nutrition, children concentrate better, engage more actively, and display higher energy levels throughout the day.
  • Boosted household stability: Families experience reduced pressure to provide daily meals, allowing parents to focus on work, income, and long-term planning.

These meals are not just plates of food—they are an investment in the well-being, dignity, and future success of every child we serve. They represent our enduring belief that supporting our workforce begins with supporting their families.

As we continue growing the programme, we remain committed to ensuring that no child in our communities learns on an empty stomach. Together, we are nurturing stronger learners, healthier communities, and a brighter future for generations to come.
