Since March 2024, Flamingo Horticulture Kenya Ltd (FHKL) and its parent company, Flamingo Group International (FGI), have been in dialogue with Leigh Day regarding allegations from a group of individuals, including a small number of employees, who live in the communities surrounding two farms in Mount Kenya. In May 2026, the parties entered into a confidential agreement and have agreed to settle the claims.
The settlement was reached without any admission of wrongdoing from FHKL or FGI.
In connection with the agreement, and in support of its ongoing work to continue to strengthen its relationship with the communities in Mount Kenya, FHKL will be providing the investment for three projects to improve access to safe drinking water in the communities of Ngusishi, Kalalu, and Sirimon. This work will be led by the communities themselves with the support of FHKL.
